The short version
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the Dillr website and web app. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept the consent banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are stored.
On the website and web app
Our landing site and web app use the same Google Analytics 4 (GA4) web data stream with Google Consent Mode v2. We track page views and meaningful product actions such as viewing a recipe, starting a cooking session, or joining a shared kitchen.
How consent works: When you first visit the site or web app, a consent banner appears. Analytics cookies are blocked by default. If you click “Accept”, GA4 is allowed to set cookies and associate signed-in activity using your internal Firebase user ID. If you click “Decline”, no analytics cookies are set and no Firebase user ID is sent. Google Consent Mode may still send cookieless measurement signals used for aggregate reporting and modeling.
We store your preference in a first-party cookie named dillr-cookie-consent, shared between dillr.ai and app.dillr.ai, so you are not asked twice. The site also uses localStorage for non-analytics preferences such as whether you’ve signed up for the waitlist.
In the iOS app
The Dillr app uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used — things like which features are popular and where people get stuck. This data is aggregated and anonymous.
The app also uses local storage (UserDefaults on iOS) to remember a few things on your device:
- Whether you’ve completed onboarding
- Your free trial status
This local data never leaves your device. It’s not sent to our servers or shared with anyone.
