Shared kitchens

A kitchen in Dillr is a shared space — recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, pantry, and cooking history all live in one kitchen and sync between everyone in it. If your partner adds salmon to the shopping list, you see it instantly.

How kitchens work

When you sign up, Dillr creates a personal kitchen for you. You can invite others to join it, or create additional kitchens for different contexts — a vacation home, a student flat, a family you cook with on weekends.

Everyone in a kitchen sees the same:

  • Saved recipes
  • Meal plans and menus
  • Shopping lists
  • Pantry and leftovers
  • Cooking history and ratings
  • Upcoming occasions

Invite someone to your kitchen

  1. Open the app and go to Settings
  2. Tap Kitchen and then Invite
  3. Share the invite link with your partner, housemate, or anyone you cook with
  4. They tap the link, sign in (or create an account), and join your kitchen

Both of you now share the same kitchen. Any recipe saved, meal planned, or item added to the shopping list shows up for everyone.

Switch between kitchens

If you belong to more than one kitchen:

  1. Open Settings > Kitchen
  2. Tap the kitchen you want to switch to

Your active kitchen determines what Dillr shows you — your pantry, recipes, and plans all change to match.

Things to know

  • Dietary needs are personal. Each person keeps their own dietary restrictions and preferences, even in a shared kitchen. Dillr considers everyone’s needs when suggesting meals.
  • Cooking history is shared. When someone logs a meal, everyone in the kitchen sees it — useful for knowing what was cooked while you were out.
  • Anyone can edit. All kitchen members can add recipes, update the pantry, and modify shopping lists. There are no permission levels.
